5 Qualities People Are Looking For In Every Best Robot Vacuum That Mops

The Best Robot Vacuum That Mops

Noah Pinsonnault is a product review analyst for the Home Care and Cleaning Lab at Good Housekeeping.

He reviews and tests cleaning appliances, focusing on robot vacuums that Mop (www.robotvacuummops.uk) vacuums and mopping combos. These multitaskers are a great option for those looking to take mopping off their to-do list. They feature impressive mapping and obstacles-avoiding capabilities, and some wash and refill their mopping pads to give themselves a hands-off clean.

The Eufy S1 Pro

This is the model you need to select if you’re looking for an automatic vacuum cleaner that can also mop. It’s smaller than other options on this list which makes it easier to maneuver in tight corners and under furniture. It has a 220 degree Lidar that, combined with the 3D Matrix Camera System, provides some of the best navigation and avoidance capabilities I’ve seen in the form of a robotic vacuum. It has a 4600mAh battery that can last up to 170 minutes if mopping and sucking are set to standard mode. (It can be more efficient when using turbo). It will even return to the dock to replenish its battery halfway through an efficient.

It’s extremely efficient and does a great job of cleaning my two bedroom apartment. It vacuums carpeted rooms extremely quickly and the hardwood floors in the hallways, and living room in one go. Its 8,000pa motor is able to clean dirt, pet hair, and even droppings with ease. Carpet detection automatically increases power when it detects carpets and the double side brush assists in removing debris from corners.

The mopping performance, while still impressive, isn’t as effective. The mop rotates at a high velocity and is pushed down with 2.2lbs of force, easily scraping away dirt and staining. I’ve noticed that the front arm protrudes out a little more than other robots. This is useful when you’re trying to get into tight corners or along baseboards. The front arms can be employed to clean larger pieces of debris, such as broken toys and books.

Another nice feature is that the S1 Pro is one of the most quiet robot vacuums and mops I’ve tried. It doesn’t produce the same volume of sound when mopping or vacuuming and is quieter than the Narwal Freo X Ultra or RoboRock S7. The S1 Pro is only limited by the fact that it must use a mopping solution that is proprietary and is sold separately. It is simple to install and performs well. However, if you are buying this robot vacuum to mop you must pay attention to this.

The Roborock Q Revo

The Q Revo stands apart from most robot vacuums that mops in its class. It is a powerful cleaning machine with a wide range of features.

The device comes with an extremely powerful and impressive cleaning system that combines LiDAR sensors and an RGB camera to map the home and detect furniture and other obstacles. It can then use this information to clean effectively and efficiently. This leads to a thorough, consistent clean which is also relatively fast.

The Q Revo DuoRoller mop pad can reach a variety of surfaces. This includes corners, baseboards and other hard to reach places. They also come with a stretchy side brush that can be extended to reach the floor near walls and other fixtures. The mop pads are washable and dry to reduce odors and prevent buildup.

Another feature worth mentioning is the customization options that are available through apps. The Q Revo allows you to adjust the strength of suction and select between a back-andforth or more random patterns. You can also adjust the number of passes it must make, which will affect how fast the device will move through your home. You can also choose to disable the side brush to prevent damaging rugs and carpets.

The device comes with a expensive price, but is packed with a wide array of smart features. It’s important to note that it incurs recurring expenses in the form of mopping equipment and maintenance. For instance brushrolls need to be replaced every six to 12 months or after 300 hours. The filter should be cleaned after 150 hours, and the mop pad should be replaced every one to three months.

This robotic vacuum cleaner has an excellent Amazon rating and comes with a wide range of physical automation features. The robot vacuum also has an power button that doubles as the ‘Clean button’ and a Home’ button to send it back home after cleaning. It also comes with a multifunctional dock which automatically empty the trash bin, fills up its water tank, and cleans and drys its mop pads.

The Shark Matrix Plus

The Shark Matrix Plus will be an ideal choice for busy professionals or anyone looking to keep their home tidy without spending too much time on chores. Its powerful performance, intelligent navigation and long battery life make it easy to keep a clean home with minimal effort.

The Matrix Plus robot vacuum is a two-in-one vacuum and mop. It can do both vacuuming as well as mopping. The robot has two modules: a combined dry bin and reservoir of water, and a separate mopping system with microfiber pads that snap into and out of position. It’s a little old-fashioned to have separate modules for vacuuming and mopping, but it does mean that you don’t have to worry about changing the bags for disposables or refilling the tank of water.

Our test subjects discovered that the Matrix Plus did a great job at both vacuuming and mopping. Its best feature was its accurate floorplan map which it uses to create the path to follow when cleaning. The Matrix Plus was able to navigate easily through rugs, furniture and other obstacles. The app allows you to create ‘No-Go Zones’ and virtual barriers to stop certain areas from being cleaned by mopping.

The Matrix Plus also did a remarkable job at collecting pet hair. It was able to collect the majority of hair our cats shed and even got into the nooks and crannys of our stairs which other robots struggled. The noise levels were low, and there were some pleasant jingles to signal that it was in the process of getting its work done.

The app was too simple and you had to alter the modules each time you changed between mops and vacuuming. The app cannot keep multiple maps. This could be an issue if your house has several floors. The Matrix Plus is a good option for those looking for a smart robot that can do both mopping and vacuuming.

The Yiko X1 Omni

The X1 Omni is the most expensive robot vacuum that can be found in our review, however it comes with some distinct features that are worth considering. The X1 Omni’s most appealing feature is its huge dock that doubles as a charging base and housing for two water tanks, a cleaning sink, and the 2.5-liter dust bin that is automatically empties.

The base also has a number of control buttons that allow you to start cleaning and then recall the robot or run the dock’s auto-emptying process. Hold down two buttons to turn off the child lock. This is a nice feature for parents who are concerned about their kids messing around with the vacuum.

The X1 Omni like other robotic vacuums uses its camera to spot furniture and obstacles in its path. It will stay clear of them. True Mapping 2.0 navigation maps your home up to four times faster than laser detection systems.

The X1 can be prone to become stuck if it gets caught in an obstacle like a power cable draped over a rug. It won’t function until you manually untangle it. This was a rare occurrence however it was frustrating since the X1 does not have an “stuck status” alert in its app.

The X1 Omni cannot automatically switch between mopping and vacuuming mode during cleaning. You will need to manually switch between the two modes, which isn’t too bad except for the fact that the mopping pads aren’t washed and dried between uses, which can lead to mildew or mold.

On the bright side it’s worth noting that the X1 Omni is a beautiful-looking robot thanks to the design team at Jacob Jensen (of Bang & Olufsen fame) who conceptualized its modern, sleek base and mopping pad apparatus. It’s a big departure from the utilitarian, black bases of competitors like Roborock and iRobot and is a refreshing view in a market that is dominated by bulky, boxy units.
